Attack Movie review: John Abraham, Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez’s film ‘Attack’ has been released in theatres. In the recent past, John Abraham has made a lot of action-packed films decorated with the flavor of patriotism-national security. But this time he has brought a sci-fi (science fiction) film ‘Attack’ with tremendous action, in which there is patriotism as well as the matter of national security, but a ‘super-soldier’ has come to save him. Now whether this super soldier can pull you to the theaters or not, you can decide by reading this review.
Story: The story of ‘Attack’ is of an army soldier Arjun Shergill (John Abraham), who is a wonderful soldier, but he is badly injured in a terrorist attack at the airport and his whole life changes. Arjun comes on the wheel chair and his whole body becomes paralysed. From here begins the story of his becoming a ‘Super Soldier’. In the film, Jacqueline ‘Aisha’ has been made, who is the love-interest of John Abraham. Rakul Preet Singh is an artificial intelligence expert and John Abraham becomes a supersoldier as a part of her project. That’s it, now that’s all about the story, to know more you will have to go to the theatres.
The story of Attack begins with an attack from the very first scene. It may be difficult for you to understand what is happening for the first few minutes. By the time you understand this attack, John Abraham will start appearing on the screen as a loverboy. A love story starts and then a kiss happens, but in this film the love story starts with the kiss itself… Did you feel a bit awkward after hearing all this? The first half of the film is also like this, don’t know when which emotion will come to the fore. In fact, in the first half, you will not see the story, only the events and that is the reason why you will not be able to feel emotionally connected anywhere.
Jacqueline and John are seen together after 6 years.
At the same time, the second half is still comparatively a bit fun because in this you will get to see tremendous action. That too with the tinge of science. John does not have as many funny dialogues with his heroines as with his artificial intelligence partner ‘Ira’. In the second half, where the action is quite fun, the logic of the story goes on leave for a while. This is a science fiction film, so there is no problem in making a ‘super soldier’ using science, nor in this fiction, the problem is in combining all these to create a story. The blame for this mess will be blamed on Lakshya Raj Anand, who is working for the first time as a director. India’s first super soldier and that too John Abraham… This idea in itself is enough to excite. But even with so many good elements, the connection that should be made by the audience with the story will not be made. In this khichdi of ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Mission Impossible’, you will feel less salt.
In ‘Attack’, to show the hero as a ‘super soldier’, we have shown a terrorist attack in the Parliament. But by showing all this, we have proved the security system of our country to be a ‘Comedy Circus’. More than 100 terrorists enter the Parliament of the country with lakhs of tonnes of ammunition and guns and that too when the Parliament session is going on. Not only this, the Prime Minister of the country also comes here. In order to show your ‘mission’ as ‘impossible’, you twist logic like this. The thing to be understood is that if you want to remain a part of the storm of South Indian films which has come in the country at this time, then how will this work be done with such ‘logical’ films. Incredible action is also in Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ but it has been served with the story and that is the reason why it is being liked a lot.
Talking about the performance, the film It belongs to John Abraham and he is very busy in this film. John’s action does not seem fake anywhere. This soldier killing so many terrorists will seem justified to you but just… nothing else. Jacqueline, as I said earlier, is the love-interest in the film. Rakul looks good in her role. Prakash Raj’s chemistry with John is stronger than both these heroines.
Rakul Preet is an artificial intelligence expert in ‘Attack’
See, films keep two types of world in front of us. One such, seeing which you say, ‘Hey, these are people like us.’ A world that looks like your own and looks very real. There is another cinema, which has nothing to do with your real life, but these stories are beyond your imagination and startle you. In fact, these other types of films are often sold in the name of ‘Mass Entertainer’. Films showing a world that you wish to be true but you know is not true. But whether we show a supercop, super-brother, super-goon or super soldier in such a ‘mass entertainer’… logic and emotional connect cannot be put in the bag even in these stories. That’s why this ‘Attack’ of John Abraham is 2.5 stars from my side.
